Frequently Asked Questions.

Q. How fast do I freefall?
A. Freefall averages 120 miles per hour or 200ft per second.

Q. Are the landings hard?
A. Normally there is less impact than jumping off a chair.

Q. What clothing should I wear?

A. Dress in casual seasonably comfortable clothing like pants or shorts and t-shirt. We provide you with a jumpsuit to wear in freefall. Sports shoes are recommended.

Q. Is there a weight limit?

A. Yes, we can safely take someone up to 220 lbs. for tandem. Those over 200 lbs, it is important that they are physically fit.

For more information, please call (218) 391-7936mark@skydivesuperior.com

Q. Are the any age limitations?
A. You must be 18 years old. There is no upper age limit as long as you are healthy.

Q. What if my parachute doesn't open?
A. By FAA regulation, all intentional parachute jumps must be made with a single harness, dual parachute system with both a main and a secondary, or reserve, parachute. Basically, if one doesn't work, you have another one. The reserve parachutes are inspected and repacked every 120 days by and FAA-certified rigger whether they've been used or not. Student main parachutes are packed by a rigger or are packed under direct supervision of a certified rigger. In addition, all students must use an AAC which will deploy if the student fails to activate either the main or reserve parachute.

Q. Can I breathe in freefall?
A. Yes, however the excitement may leave you breathless!

Q. How long do I freefall?
A. You will freefall almost 50 seconds.

Q. Will I be scared?
A. It is normal to be apprehensive about jumping from an airplane. The airplane ride up is typically where most students feel the most anxiety, but few jumpers report feeling anything but exhilaration once they've left that door!

Q. What height will we jump from?
A. You will jump from at least 10,500ft.

Q. How experienced are the instructors?
A. Our instructors are all USPA qualified and have from between 700 and 7,000 jumps.
